Hótel Rangá was upgraded and renovated in 2007/2008 and presently has 51 luxuriously decorated rooms and Suites. It also features an acclaimed riverside restaurant, a lounge & bar, 2 upstairs meeting rooms, a game room, massage facilities and 3 much beloved outdoor hot tubs heated with geothermal water - where there is an excellent chance to view the fantastic northern lights during September through April.
The resort is built in log-cabin style and has through the years acquired an excellent reputation for its food, accommodation and service. It is the first Icelandic hotel to become a member of the prestigious international chain Special Hotels of the World. A celebrity hot spot, top honeymoon destination and favorite hotel amongst Icelanders, Hotel Rangá also offers great facilities for small business meetings with a capacity for 105 guests for MICE arrangements.
One cannot miss feeling welcome entering its warm interior where relaxed countryside feeling meets the professional ambition of pleasing its entire clientel. Upon entering Hotel Ranga, you will be greeted by a towering 10-foot tall polar bear named Hrammur that resides in the lobby. He is a favorite model for photographers and is definitely one of the most pictured objects in Iceland. This is just a prelude to the cozy ambiance that you will encounter that vibrates throughout the hotel.
There are nineteen (19) rooms with twin beds that can be put together upon prior requests, or five (5) with double queen beds. All rooms have a telephone, bathtub and a shower, bathroom amenities, bathrobes and slippers (3 handicap accessible rooms with shower only), desk, cabinet, mini bar, hairdryer, heating, satellite TV and free WIFI Internet. Rooms face either the riverside and the outdoor hot tubs (12 rooms with private balcony) or the famous volcano Mt. Hekla (almost all of these rooms are equipped with indoor Jacuzzis). Size 18m2. 24 hour room service, laundry and wake up service and all are non smoking rooms.
There are eighteen (18) rooms with King size beds and two (2) rooms with Twin size beds. All rooms are equipped with a satellite flat screen TV, DVD player and free WIFI Internet, telephone, indoor Jacuzzi bathtub and shower,bathroom amenities, sofa with built-in bed, table, minibar, cabinet, desk, bath robes and slippers, hairdryer, heating. The rooms either face the riverside and the outdoor hot tubs (17 rooms are with private balcony) or the famous Volcano Mt. Hekla. Size 26m². 24 hour room service. Laundry and wake up service and all are non smoking rooms.
